Black Sunday, Sept. 15-17 on East Side
The United Black Drag Racers Association (UBDRA) will host its 12th Annual Black Sunday Weekend drag racing event at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Illinois, September 15-17. Black Sunday is the largest nationally recognized drag racing event in the country hosted by an African-American organization.
Besides the racing, activities will include a manufacturer’s row, children’s play village and free health screenings. Over the years, UBDR has donated the proceeds from this race to organizations like Faith House, Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation, United Negro College Fund and Mathews-Dickey Boys & Girls Club.
Gates open: Friday, 8 a.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m.; Sunday, 7 a.m.
