Approximately 70 children with a variety of physical disabilities recently attended St. Louis Society’s renowned Sports Camp for Youth with Physical Disabilities at the North County Recreation Complex. With the assistance of volunteers and staff, many of whom themselves possess physical disabilities, the children participated in activities including basketball, golf, tennis, t-ball, hockey, bocce ball, soccer, martial arts, as well as storytelling, art and music therapy.
Camp sponsors were the United Way of Greater St. Louis, Cardinals Care, Suburban Journals Old Newboys Fund, Anheuser-Busch, Morgan Stanley, the St. Louis Office for Mental Retardation County, and the Developmental Disabilities Resource Board of St. Charles County.
