St. Louisan Napheesa Collier was the biggest star amongst the stars at Saturday night’s WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis.
The former Incarnate Word Academy All-American scored an All-Star Game record 36 points in leading Team Collier to a 151-131 victory over Team Clark in a high-scoring All-Star Game. Collier and Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark were the captains of their respective teams.
Collier took home the Most Valuable Player honors after her dominating performance, which has been her norm during the regular season. She connected on 13 of her 16 field goal attempts on the night. She also grabbed nine rebounds. Collier also earned a bonus check of $5,000 for winning the MVP award.
Collier is considered one of the frontrunners for the league’s Most Valuable Player award as she has led the Minnesota Lynx to the best record in the WNBA. She is leading the league in scoring at 23.2 points a game. She is also averaging 7.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.6 blocks a game. She is also shooting 51 percent from the field, 34 percent from 3-point range and 94 percent from the free throw line.
