Jayson Tatum

St. Louisan Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics was named to the All-NBA’s First Team for the third consecutive team.

The former Chaminade College Prep All-American became the first Celtic to be named to the All-NBA First Team in three consecutive seasons since Hall of Famer Larry Bird accomplished the feat in nine straight seasons from 1979 to 1988.

Joining Tatum on the first team were league MVP Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In his seventh season, Tatum averaged 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists a game while shooting 47 percent from the field, 37 percent from 3-point range and 83 percent from the free throw line. He led the Celtics to a 64-18 record, which was the best in the NBA.
