The Mizzou Tigers basketball team are leaving the Big 12 with a bang.  The Tigers soundly defeated the Baylor Bears 90-75 Saturday to capture the conference’s tournament crown.

The victory was the Tigers’ third of the season over the 11th ranked Bears, who upset Kansas in the semifinals.  With the victory, the Tigers exit the Big 12 on a high note, as the school will join the SEC next season.

Despite the tournament victory, the Tigers did not earn a coveted No. 1 or placement in the St. Louis region seed for the NCAA tournament.  Instead Frank Haith’s team will head out West as the No. 2 seed, where they will face Norfolk State in the first round.

St. Louis University will also return to the NCAA Tournament, after earning a No. 9 seed in the West.  St. Louis’ own Bradley Beal and his Florida Gators complete the Missouri West-region trifecta with a No. 7 seed as a potential second-round matchup with the Tigers.
