As the calendar switches from March to April, from winter to spring, the NFL draft is almost here. And for the first time, I’m not as psyched up for it as I usually am. I’m kinda feeling ambivalent towards the NFL draft this year. Thanks to the constant updates before, during and after the NFL owners meeting last week in Arizona, my feelings changed a little.

This stadium situation is the root of my mixed emotions about the draft. It’s like an ominous dark cloud with a spinning vortex, flinging debris. I understand that this is a business. And the owners are in this business to make money. All of them are – especially, the present owner of the St. Louis Rams.

Roger Goodell knows exactly what the hell has been going on in St. Louis. And he’s not the least bit concerned that the owner of the Rams, who is so rich he pays a man to sneeze for him, would purposely poison a loyal fan base that keeps showing up even though they team hasn’t finished .500 since 2003-04 season.

This “market survey” is a big load of garbage. St. Louis needs to show the NFL how much it wants football? NFL, how about you show how much you appreciate our strong fan support, despite having an owner who hasn’t said anything to the local media or fans in five years.

What kind of owner is this? To the commissioner, wouldn’t that seem a little bit odd? I guess not. He has no compassion at all for what fans in the St. Louis and Los Angeles markets are going through. Why would he have compassion for working-class families that bust their assets to enjoy the expensive NFL experience?

I wonder what do NFL owners wash their greed down with? Their libido for dead presidents is only matched by a vampire’s thirst for blood.

So when Goodell addressed the media about the stadium quagmire in multiple NFL cities, I thought it was just lip service. Goodell can talk about how impressed he is with what’s going on in St. Louis all he wishes, but you can’t trust anything coming out of his mouth. I would love to see him on “The Maury Show” and watch him take a lie detector test.
