Reality TV star Evelyn Lozada’s first interview since she was allegedly headbutted by her husband Chad Johnson will air tonight on Nightline. Lozada tells ABC’s Amy Robach that she is “afraid” of her soon-to-be ex.

“I believe he loves me. I believe he needs to get help. He’s a good guy that made a bad choice,” Lozada, star of VH1’s Basketball Wives, told Amy Robach. “He loves football and he’s very driven and a great dad. He made a bad choice that destroyed his life, and I hate that I’m connected to that.”

Since the incident, Johnson was cut from the Miami Dolphins and the couple’s reality show was given the ax before a single episode was aired on VH1.

It is her first time speaking on camera about the events that led her to file for divorce from the former Miami Dolphins receiver, formerly known as Chad “Ochocinco.”

Lozada talked about ending her six-week-long marriage to Johnson, what she says happened the night they argued- how it became physical and how she is coping. She said she will not get back together with Johnson and refuses to talk to him.

“It’s the hardest thing in the world to walk away from someone that you really love,” Lozada told “Nightline”. “But you have to walk away because I have to protect myself.”

The Nightline episode airs tonight at 10:35 p.m. on ABC. Check local listings for channel.
