Annual music festival Loufest gets underway today (Sept. 10) in Forest Park and is boasting some of the biggest names in rock, pop and alternative music. For 2016 they’ve once again called on a beloved hip-hop figure to draw in a diverse audience as part of the festival’s two-day lineup.
The one and only Ms. Lauryn Hill is slated to take the stage at 7 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 11). Best known for her seminal solo debut “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” the former Fugees frontwoman took the music industry by storm with the album’s 1998 release. The album garnered six Grammy Awards and sold more than five million copies.
Other acts on the bill for Loufest 2016 include The Illphonics at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Preservation Hall Jazz Band at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and Charles Bradley and his Extraodinaires at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
