Raven Wolf C. Fenton Jennings II is a musician often seen at the Soulard Market on Saturday mornings in St. Louis City. On Nov. 7, Jennings received a Kickass award from the 52nd City, a group of collaborating artists that previously printed a quarterly literary magazine. (http://kickassawardsstl.wordpress.com/)

Every year, the group, which was founded by Stefene Russell, Andrea Avery and Thomas Crone, presents awards to people who have made an impact on the community.

The website states: “While it’s not an official not-for-profit entity, it is a completely grassroots, self-funded effort. All winners are determined by an ad hoc series of discussions during the latter portion of each year, with winners determined as individuals, businesses, organizations and projects that contribute to the health and vitality of the St. Louis region, especially the City of St. Louis.”

The group recognizes people who’ve often gone without public notice for their work.

Jennings’ music can be found at myspace.com/ravenwolfgoodjazz. He said he expects to release a new album out online for download in the next month through his label Pub Dog Records, LLC.
