The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Passport To A Cure Dream Gala,held Sat., May 8 at the Kemp Auto Museum in Chesterfield, Mo. raised $900,000, a fundraising best for the Metro Saint Louis/Greater Missouri Chapter.
A high light of the evening was the presentation to Dr. William Danforth II of the “Research Champion Award.” Rarely presented, JDRF Chapters confer this prestigious award to the rare individual who has impacted research. Dr. Danforth is Chancellor Emeritus of Washington University, which has received more than $22,000,000. in JDRF research funding.Also honored as Diabetes Champions were Ward Klein, CEO Energizer Holdings, Inc. and David P. Hatfield, President and CEO Energizer Personal Care.
