St. Louis Connection:

“I grew up in New York City, I was born and raised in Queens, NY. My parents migrated to the US in the early 1960’s from Panama (father) and Colombia (mother). So, I attended High School in New York and shortly after high school, made my way down south to attend a fantastic HBCU, North Carolina A&T State Univ. While living in North Carolina, I suffered a back injury which brought my work and school schedule to a complete stop. A friend told me about a dynamic chiropractor that she felt could help with some of my issues. I had no idea what to expect when walking into his office for the first time. He was very engaging, and made me feel comfortable right from the start. The one thing I will never forget that he told me on that first visit was the definition of DOCTOR. He told me that it meant TEACHER, and that he would help educate me not only on my chief complaint, but on overall health and wellness. I was hooked to say the least. I looked up at his wall and saw Logan College of Chiropractic, St. Louis, MO. The rest is history.”

How did you get where you are?

“I was only able to get where I am today through my faith in God and my loving family that sacrificed so much to see me succeed. Yes, I worked many jobs to put myself through college. Yes, I visualized where I wanted to be each day my eyes opened to a new day. Yes, my drive and ambition come from within. Yes, I not only set goals, but I now take action steps daily and weekly to achieve those goals. “See your FUTURE…” When I first graduated from Logan almost four years ago, I decided that I wanted to open a clinic in the heart of North County. In doing so, it allowed me the opportunity to have a very diverse patient base and also allowed me to SERVE a population of people that are ready for that health care paradigm shift. People in my community are going from the old drug it, numb it, or chemically relax it to a more natural approach. I have had little resistance to the wellness approach my office takes to health care. I believe that it is vital for patients to be educated, but I also believe that doctors should spend less time looking down at a small piece of paper writing, and more time looking up, listening.”
