Rap veteran Busta Rhymes will pay former assistant Dashiel Gables $25,000 to end their court fight over pay and claims of abuse at work.
According to Allhiphop.com, new court papers finally added an amount to the deal after both sides agreed to settle earlier this year. Gables will reportedly receive two payments of $12,500, with half treated as wages and the other half covering the remainder of the deal.
The money is due after a federal judge signs off on the pay part of the case. The papers name Trevor Smith, Busta’s legal name, along with Starbus LLC and Conglomerate Entertainment as the sides making the payment.
That $25,000 total is far below the roughly $6 million Gables once sought over his short time working for Busta. Gables claimed he often worked 15 to 18 hours each day, seven days a week, while earning a flat $200 daily rate. Gables accused Busta of punching him several times inside a Brooklyn building on January 10, 2025.
