Bill Cosby

Bill Cosby’s lawyers were in court this week to make sure the settlement agreement between himself and sexual assault accuser Andrea Constand remains sealed.

Cosby’s legal team took steps to keep the settlement confidential after portions of the 2005 deposition in the case were made public last week.

In the deposition, Cosby admitted to obtaining Quaaludes for sexual encounter, but did not admit secretly drugging or having sex with anyone without their consent.

Cosby’s lawyers argued that media outlets twisted the testimony to appear as though he admitted guilt when he did not. The judge cited Cosby’s self-appointed role as ‘public moralist’ in his decision to release the documents. Andrea Constand is fighting to have the settlement agreement unsealed.
