UPN has agreed to develop a comedy pilot inspired by the childhood experiences of comedian/actor Chris Rock called Everybody Hates Chris.
The coming-of-age tale is seen through the eyes of the eldest of three children in a strict family. The main character attends a predominantly white school in 1980s Brooklyn.
Rock is set to narrate the pilot, which was originally developed for Fox last season but was not picked up.
