Federal jurors have acquitted Lil Durk in the murder-for-hire case accusing him of financing a deadly plot to kill rapper Quando Rondo. The verdict came Friday, Sept. 11, on the jury’s third day of deliberations in U.S. District Judge Michael Fitzgerald’s courtroom.
Durk, born Durk Devontay Banks, was found not guilty on all counts. Co-defendants Deandre “DeDe” Wilson and David “Browneyez” Lindsey were convicted of stalking and stalking conspiracy but cleared of the two murder-for-hire charges. Each man originally faced five federal counts, including conspiracy to commit stalking, stalking Tyquian “Quando Rondo” Bowman with a dangerous weapon, and stalking Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson resulting in death. They were also charged with conspiracy to use interstate facilities in a murder-for-hire resulting in death.
Prosecutors alleged Durk financed the operation as retaliation for the 2020 killing of Dayvon “King Von” Bennett. The case was centered on August 19, 2022 ambush near the Beverly Center in Los Angeles. Quando Rondo survived, but his 24-year-old cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson was killed when gunmen fired 18 rounds.
