The St. Louis Board of Adjustment is expected to hear appeals challenging the city’s approval of a permit for a proposed data center near the Armory in Midtown.

Residents, business owners and advocacy groups have filed multiple appeals seeking to overturn the conditional-use permit granted in April for the project, which would convert the former Famous-Barr warehouse into a data center and redevelop the Armory as office space.

Opponents have raised concerns about potential impacts on water use, energy consumption, noise and neighborhood development.

City officials approved the project with a series of conditions and a community benefits agreement aimed at addressing those concerns.
