Passenger air traffic in Africa is projected to grow nearly 6% annually through 2045, according to Boeing’s 2026 Commercial Market Outlook.

Boeing projects the continent’s commercial airplane fleet will more than double from 755 aircraft to 1,625 during the next 20 years. Nearly 1,200 new aircraft are expected to be delivered, including 870 single-aisle jets. 

Boeing also projects Africa’s cargo fleet will grow from 60 to 150 freighters.
