The city of Dellwood will celebrate its 75th anniversary with the Diamond Jubilee Expo from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Dellwood Recreation Center.
The free event will feature a performance by R&B singer Howard Hewett, along with live music, step team performances, food vendors and nonprofit organizations providing information about community services. Attendees also will have an opportunity to meet city officials and local business representatives.
Mayor Reggie Jones said the event is intended to recognize the city’s history while looking toward its future.
“Celebrating 75 years is about more than looking back — it’s about recognizing how far we’ve come and where we’re going,” Jones said.
In April, Dellwood voters approved Proposition D, which will fund a new public safety building on West Florissant Avenue, a turf sports field near Dellwood Park, an events center, a splash pad, a playground and a food truck plaza.
