Dr. Ashwani Monga has been named chancellor of the University of Missouri–St. Louis, effective Jan. 1, 2027. He currently serves as executive vice chancellor and chief academic officer at the University System of Georgia.
Monga has led academic strategy across the Georgia system’s 25 universities, which serve 382,000 students and employ 20,000 faculty members. He serves as the top academic liaison to the chancellor and Board of Regents.
He oversees student and faculty matters, including academic programs, accreditation, athletic compliance, international education, enrollment management, student success and library services.
