The 2006 Cedric “The Entertainer” Charitable Foundation/United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Scholarship applications are available for minority students residing in the metropolitan St. Louis community.
The scholarship provides up to a $2,500 award. The deadline to submit applications is April 28.
Eligible students must be a graduating senior at a St. Louis area high school; have a 3.0 grade point average; and planning to attend one of the 39 (UNCF) member schools.
The Cedric “The Entertainer” Charitable Foundation and UNCF partnership began in 2001. Since that time, the Foundation has contributed over $40,000 in scholarship support for UNCF students and to the UNCF Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund to assist Dillard and Xavier Universities in their rebuilding efforts. To date, 22 students have received scholarship awards.
Founded in 1995, by actor/comedian/author, Cedric “The Entertainer” and his sister, Sharita Kyles Wilson, the Foundation is committed to enhancing the lives of youth and families in the state of Missouri.
The Foundation provides academic college scholarships for high school graduates, and through its Entourage Program, broadens the cultural and professional experiences of inner-city youth, ages 12-16, by providing chaperoned field trips to various destinations throughout the country.
The Foundation also provides scholarships to young people in the Berkley, Missouri community through McCluer South/Berkeley High School and the Berkeley Heights Church of Christ.
