Just after announcing that DNA linked Brandon McGuire to the murder of 16-year-old Keyandra Jackson – who was found in a North city dumpster last fall – the suspect has been arrested.

Jackson has been taken into custody this morning (Wednesday), where the accused murderer and rapist will likely face charges.

Police say Brandon McGuire, 25 attacked and killed Keyandra Jackson one year ago.

The 16-year-old’s body was found in a north St. Louis dumpster last November.

The body of Keyandra Jackson, a runaway from University City, was discovered in a trash bin of the 1300 block of Montgomery Street in November 2006. She was raped and strangled.

In the months prior to the teenager’s murder, McGuire was charged with kidnapping, rape and second degree assault on a woman in south St. Louis. According to police, McGuire was arrested and released on bond for those charges.
