DJ (or not DJ, depends who you ask) Bishop got his handle from Tupac’s character in Juice. They say it was playing that character on the film’s New York location and grasping after NYC thugs that dragged ‘Pac into the gangsta wannabeism that got him killed. Now somebody says Bishop is heading down the same sorry path. A dude named Michael who shot footage for Bishop’s DVD says Bishop passed on paying him, then when Michael kept on him for payment, Bishop supposedly said, “I know where your mother lives.” If that’s true, that’s the cheapest gangsta chump shot I’ve ever heard in the Lou. Bishop says it ain’t true. “I just told him he wasn’t no hustler,” was how Bishop recalls the same conversation. If nothing else, it shows Bishop’s status change. A year ago he was poking at the Nelly/Chingy beef for attention. Now his own beef is in the fire. Anyway, his DVD party is at The Vault on Friday, and it’s free. Let’s keep it clean, boys. This beef thing is interesting right up until somebody gets hurt. Read your hip-hop history, and keep the violence all in your mind and mouth.
