Then, on Saturday, we cruised Cherokee Street, where the mix isn’t black and white but black and brown. Lots of Mexican folks down there.
We were on a mission for Mexican food. People. If you think Taco Bell or Chevy’s is Mexican food, get your butt down to Cherokee Street and try the real deal.
While we were feeding our faces, I picked up a flyer. My Spanish is crap, but I could see it was describing a celebration for the Day of the Child next Saturday, April 30, from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., all up and down Cherokee (from Jefferson to Grand), with lots of kid’s stuff to do and, of course, all that good food.
If you’ve got a little one, maybe check it out. It’s best to start kids young on seeing new sights, faces, making new friends. It’s a big world out here. But don’t miss the Annie Malone BBQ on Friday or Saturday, either!
