Even though the store won’t officially open for another two weeks, Saturday was a busy day for the Nordstrom Galleria store! There were makeup and fragrance consultations – and complimentary goodies – the main attraction was all about the undergarments thanks to the Nordstrom Fits America event.
“I just came in here to pass the time while my son was at the mall, and now I have a new bra,” Vanessa Henderson said as she showed off her newly contoured cleavage. “This event was great – it was the most fun I never expected to have!”
Racks and racks of bras – ranging in size from AA to K – with big name brands like Betsey Johnson, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Spanx and more served as instruments to inform women on the proper way to wear a bra and give their bust line (and self – esteem) a boost.
“The biggest mistake women make is wearing the wrong size,” said Amanda Wood, Nordstrom Fit Specialist for the Midwest. “They get caught up on the number and the letter and don’t focus on how the bra actually works for them.”
Hundreds of women offered “oohs” and “ahhs” that could be heard from the other side of the dressing room as they were aided into bras that made them look and feel better.
“This is so comfortable,” Henderson said.
She seemed just as excited to talk about the bra as she was to wear it.
“A great fitting bra can dramatically enhance your silhouette,” said Lauren Harp, Nordstrom National Fit Stylist. “And make you feel more beautiful and confident.”
A buzz of delight filled the air as the 40 fit specialist hustled and bustled back and forth from the bra racks to the women who eagerly anticipated the magic that the fit specialists served through a host of styles and colors.
“A good bra can make all of the difference in the world,” Wood said. “And every woman is worth it.”
The store wasn’t officially open, but women were allowed to purchase bras at the store – with $2 of the proceeds from every bra sold to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
