This was the first time I have seen STL come together for real. Club Toxic was the place to be on Saturday. Toxic was truly on fire. I was so excited, because DJ AJ was the person responsible for uniting St. Louis. AJ wanted to help support St. Louis’ artists. He put the radio stations, the DJs, and the entire club on blast Saturday.
He said, “If ya’ll are not hearing these songs on the radio and in the club, then we as DJs ain’t doing our job.” Tell it like it is, AJ.
DJ AJ hosted the party, and DJ CD put it down on the ones and twos all night. Derrty DJs keep putting it down and repping for Saint Louis. (Say, can you send me a copy of the new mix tape, Holla At Ya Derrty? Thought so.)
All the big dogs were in the house: Derrty Ent, Nelly, Chingy, Kyjuan, Ali, BOBQP, BMF, Bun B, Chamillionare, DJ CD, DJ Cuddy, Charlie Chan, Alice Prince, Capo (Noize City) and many more. Joka kicked off the night getting everybody hyped as always. Other hype performances came from The All Stars, BMF, The Quor, Ali, Da Slu Crew, Raw Reese, Clyph, Derrty Ent, D-Mac, Spaide R.I.P.P.E.R., Dub and the one and only NELLY.
That’s right, ya’ll heard me. Nelly was in the house and he performed! My boy even came through the front door, stayed all night, and parlayed with fans all night long. He took pictures, shook hands, and at the end of the night gave St. Louis a sneak preview of his new song. It’s going to be another hit.
Nelly called Chingy on stage to join him. Thats right, ya’ll, as I said before, the beef between Nelly and Chingy is officially over. Nelly was pretty low-key, but Chingy was nice and iced out. I was upstairs in VIP, but I was still blinded by all the diamonds in his bracelet. Chingy is still “ballin’ baby.” Get it, boy.
