The Old Courthouse in St. Louis came alive with history and celebration as dignitaries, public figures, and the community gathered for its grand reopening. The event featured heartfelt moments, including Jenifer Lewis posing with Mayor Cara Spencer and a powerful address by Twinette Johnson, Dean of Saint Louis University Law School. The St. Louis Symphony’s INUNISON Chorus provided a stunning performance, while Lynne Jackson, the great-great-granddaughter of Dred and Harriet Scott, raised her fist in victory after cutting the ribbon. The Gateway Arch Park Foundation’s Ryan McCluer and 1st Dist. Cong. Wesley Bell also shared moving remarks during the historic event. The dedication of the Old Courthouse marks a significant chapter in the city’s history, bringing together past, present, and future.
