Salvation Army opens veterans apartments
Maj. Gen. Gregory E. Couch, chief of staff, United States Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base in Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, says hello to Army veteran John Burton as Salvation Army major Neal Richardson looks on in St. Louis on November 8. Couch was on hand for the ribbon cutting of the Salvation Army’s brand new 48 unit apartment complex for veterans. The $9 million facility will provide permanent housing for vets as well as transitional housing for veterans recovering from addictions or conditions like post traumatic stress disorder.
