ArchCity Defenders has filed a class action lawsuit accusing University City of illegally towing residents’ vehicles from private property without warrants or adequate notice.
According to the lawsuit, vehicles parked in driveways were seized even though they posed no safety hazard or obstruction. Residents were not given an opportunity to challenge the towing before it occurred.
Some residents lost their vehicles because they could not afford towing fees, while others faced significant financial burdens.
The lawsuit seeks to end the practice and obtain monetary damages for affected residents.
