The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis will dedicate a special tribute to longtime Herbert Hoover Club Director and Dellwood Mayor Reggie Jones during its annual Spotlight on Service Recognition Ceremony on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Edward Jones headquarters, 12555 Manchester Road in Des Peres. The event will be held from 5–8 p.m. The program is open to the public, but registration is required to attend.
Jones died on Friday, August 21. He was 54.
He was scheduled to be honored at this year’s ceremony for reaching his 30‑year service milestone with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis. Instead, colleagues, friends and supporters will gather to recognize the extraordinary service and steady leadership he brought to the Herbert Hoover Club for three decades.
“Reggie was a dedicated Club director. He was our colleague, our friend and a beloved member of the BGCSTL family,” said Boys & Girls Clubs President and CEO Brandon Williams. “His impact can be seen in generations of young people, and he will be missed.”
Williams said Jones’ commitment was evident in the way he showed up for families and staff every day. “His love for Herbert Hoover, the city of Dellwood and the community he served was evident in everything he did,” he said.
The annual Spotlight on Service Recognition Ceremony celebrates staff members marking service anniversaries in five‑year increments, recognizing their contributions to the organization’s mission. Volunteers and Board members whose work has strengthened Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis will also be honored.
The evening will include the induction of distinguished former Club members into the BGCSTL Alumni Hall of Honor — acknowledging alumni whose professional accomplishments reflect the long‑term impact of the Boys & Girls Club experience.
