Last year, my husband and I decided to build a new home and move our family. You know what that means, don’t you? NO summer vacation!
Maybe it is because I am the mother of four boys who has very little time for herself, not to mention with my husband.
Maybe it is because I like to get away to a place where no one is screaming, “Mommy, can you make me some Fruit Loops?”
Whatever the reason, I really look forward to a couples vacation with my husband and I.
Some may wonder if I feel guilty leaving my mother at home to fend for herself with two teenage sons, a grammar schooler and pre-schooler.
No way. She loves it, as long as we are back within five days.
So, this year, with the house finished, I booked the first plane smoking after the kids got out of school headed for … Jamacia! Yea, MON!
As a matter of fact, that is where I am as I type this column. I am using the hotel dinasour of a computer that is costing me ten dollars for a few minutes. But it is worth it to have some peace and quiet.
There is nothing like vacation. Fun in the sun, plenty of food, activities.
Well, actually, there is some sort of tropical depression, and the sun has not shown up yet except to peek out of the rain clouds. But I am not complaining.
The food is great, except we missed breakfast because our shuttle was late and we got here at midnight. Hey, no complaints here, I am on vacation!
The activities that I mentioned have been somewhat halted because of the rain but, hey, they are guaranteed to begin in the morning when that good ole sun shows up again.
Where is my husband? Oh, he is relaxing. Actually, he is asleep and has been for over an hour. Hey, soooo much fun will do that to you.
So, here I am, barely able to squeeze in this column with so much to do.
Well, the computer is telling me that I only have two minutes of my ten minutes left, so I have to go jet skiing or something.
Well, I will go when it stops raining. But, hey, I am on vacation!
I wonder what my mother is fixing the kids for lunch?
See you next week after all of this fun in the, hmmm, sun is over with.
Yea, mon!
Thanks for sharing.
