St. Louis officials approved nearly $45,000 in additional engineering costs for improvements to 20th Street after crews encountered unexpected underground utilities, including a water main.
The increase brings the city’s engineering contract for the $15.25 million project to about $1.56 million. The work covers 20th Street from Market Street to St. Louis Avenue and includes new pavement, sidewalks, lighting and traffic signals.
Construction, originally expected to finish this fall, is now scheduled for completion in summer 2027.
