National Alliance on Mental Illness-St. Louis is holding a Family Skills Workshop on Saturday, April 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Maria Center at 336 East Ripa. The workshop will provide an opportunity for members of the community to hear experts speak on child-onset psychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder, depression and schizophrenia.
There will also be “Ask the Doctor” sessions at the workshop, and several parents who will share their experiences in raising their children with emotional disorders. An expert will discuss how to work with school personnel to create an Individualized Education Plan that will work for children with disabilities.
