Parents, classroom teachers and school administrators will gather to discuss how best to meet the unique challenges of educating gifted students at a conference offered by the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Education, Continuing Education & Outreach. “Inquiring Minds, Responsive Teachers: Challenging Gifted Students in the Regular Classroom” will meet 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1 and 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 2 in the J.C. Penney Conference Center.
The keynote speaker is Susan Baum an international education consultant, professor in the education of gifted and talented students and author. She will speak Wednesday evening on supporting gifted students and Thursday on understanding and responding to dual exceptionalities.
Topics of the concurrent sessions include living with and advocating for your gifted child, using technology to challenge gifted students and the politics and finances of gifted education.
