Dellwood’s Board of Aldermen has selected Alderwoman Crystal Carter to serve as mayor following the unexpected death of Mayor Reggie Jones last month.

Kenneth Robinson, president of the Dellwood Board of Aldermen, initially stepped in as interim mayor on Aug. 24. Robinson resigned as board president during Monday night’s meeting.

Carter will serve the remainder of Jones’ two-year term, with the city’s next mayoral election scheduled for April 2027.

“No one can fill the shoes of Jones,” Carter said. “It’s been a tremendous undertaking for us as a board, the staff, the city administrator, our city attorney and the city of Dellwood residents as a whole.”

Carter said she has lived in St. Louis County for more than 30 years and has called Dellwood home for more than 16 years.

She said residents can expect continuity under her leadership, emphasizing that city operations will continue without disruption and pointing to the experience of the board of aldermen, city administrator, attorney and staff.
