Why is when I try going to Club Buca with a black male friend, they are 98 percent of the time turned away at the door? Usually the reason given is their clothes are too baggy. Just recently I watched a white male walk through the door with baggier clothes than my friend, and my black friend was turned away. They also turned away our other black male friends just for being with him, even though their clothes were upscale. Of course, females may enter the club in whatever they choose to wear.

I found at least one bouncer there who admitted he hated black males (his nickname was Nasty). He told me the only reason he didn’t throw my black male friends out the previous night was because they were with me.

My black boyfriend showed up to Buca one week with a button-up dress shirt on, a nice pair of jeans and dress shoes. He was with his two white friends, so they let him in. The next week he showed up in the same attire but with his black cousin, and when they saw his cousin they decided his pants were too baggy and then looked at my boyfriend and told him his clothes were not right either. My boyfriend had on the same clothes they let him in with the week before.
