As a conservative African American, I am in a very distinct minority. I had become totally cynical and disillusioned by the hypocrisy and greed of the politicians and preachers who call themselves conservatives. Subsequent to the recent midterm elections, I am very optimistic and encouraged by the significant increase in the number of “Blue Dog Democrats” elected to Congress.
