Unfortunately, there is an error in my piece on the Norman Seay lectureship. It is the second, not the first, lectureship named for an African American at Washington University School of Medicine. The Homer G. Phillips lecture series is the first. I did contact the Medical Public Affairs Office at Washington University prior to submitting the piece. It appears that some people consider the Phillips lectureship to be named after the former Homer G. Phillips hospital and not the man.
