There is a refrigerator magnet that says, “Don’t insult the alligator until you have crossed the river.” Nancy Pelosi has a full plate of work to accomplish before impeachment is considered. Should the incumbent president and vice president be impeached or resign, she would become president of the United States – so others, such as U.S. Rep. John Conyers, chairman-elect of the House Judiciary Committee should carry water for impeachment, not her.
In the 2006 session of Congress, Conyers had authored House Resolutions: HR 635 to censure the president; HR 636 to censure the vice president; and HR 637 to form a select committee to investigate both that may lead to Articles of Impeachment. This work will most likely continue in the next session of Congress, God willing and if the creek don’t rise.
