In the last election, the Missouri Bar has published a pamphlet “Judging the Judges.” The Bar lists the names of all the judges up for retention in Missouri from the Supreme Court to the two judicial circuits, county and city.
The Missouri Bar states that it “neither supports nor opposes the election or retention of individual judges, but is a strong supporter of the Missouri Non-Partisan Court Plan.”
Did the Bar decide to target Judy P. Draper because she is African-American? Was the predominantly white organization so robustly arrogant to assume the voters would accept their violation of the non-partisan court plan?
Judges are in office to serve the people, not the special interest of lawyers. The retention of Judge Judy P. Draper is evidence that voters are smart!
