McBride Homes has reached an agreement with the St. Louis County Port Authority to redevelop the former Jamestown Mall property in north St. Louis County.
Plans for the 144.5-acre site call for 540 single-family homes, 192 apartments, retail space and recreational areas.
Construction is expected to take about eight years. The project could create more than 300 jobs, according to developers. Community meetings are planned to gather residents’ input.
