Dr. Robert Holloway Sr. died August 11, 2006 at St. Luke’s South Hospital. He was 76 and resided in Overland Park, KS.

Dr. Holloway was an anesthesiologist and retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center in St. Louis in 1995. He was chief of anesthesiology for most of the 37 years that he was there.

In 2002 he was honored as a Lifetime Achiever in Health Care at the St. Louis American’s Salute to Excellence in Health Care.

Dr. Holloway served as an elder at Berea Presbyterian Church and was chairman of the Education Committee. He later transferred his membership to Cote Brilliante Presbyterian where he served as an elder and Health Committee chairman.

Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Mitchell Holloway; a son, Robert Holloway Jr. (Daphne), Philadelphia, PA; two daughters, Pamela Holloway Darden (Elbert, Kansas City, MO and Karen Evans (Carlton), Skokie, IL; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at Community Christian Church in Kansas City, MO. Memorials may be sent to LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, TN or Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN.
