Born, September 24, 1910 in Lincoln, IL, Eloise Owens was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a member of the mother’s board of the Second Baptist Church in Lincoln, IL, a former Foster Grandparent of The Year for the state of Illinois, a board member of community action and an active member of NAACP.
Her parents, husbands, one sister, four brothers and two grandsons preceded her in death.
She departed this life January 9, 2006. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Henry Albert Townsend of Ann Arbor, MI, Harvey Allen (Miriam) Townsend of Granada Hills, CA; one daughter, Dolly M. Townsend of St. Louis; one brother, Guy E. Davis of Springfield, IL, six great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
