Grant Keys was born April 30, 1934 in St. Louis to the late Grant Sr. and Exelener Keys. Two sisters, Rosie Caldwell and Sadie Ross, preceded him in death.
Grant received Christ and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church at and early age. He was a graduate of Sumner High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Central State University in Wiberforce, Ohio.
Grant was very well know and liked throughout the St. Louis area. He was very active in the political field as a Democrat and later as a Republican. He was often kidded by colleagues for being a “Black Republican.”
Grant owned and operated a number of local businesses throughout his life. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, camping at Lost Valley Lake Resort, watching Western movies and was an avid football fan.
Grant was a loving, dedicated and extremely loyal husband, father and provider, who will be truly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory a caring and dedicated wife of 54 years, Lettie; one son, Grant Keys, Jr.; one daughter, Cassandra Keys; one brother, Kenneth Keys; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
