Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today (Feb. 3, 2005) for Julia A. Holmes (Skinner), owner of Concepts Marketing and Advertising, and a board member of the St. Louis Minority Business Council.She passed away on the morning of January 25, 2005 following a bout against cancer.
“She is going to be sorely missed,” said James Webb, president and CEO of the Minority Business Council.”We are going to miss her energy and her commitment to minority business development in the St. Louis area. She leveraged whatever she could to help other minority-owned companies.”
Julia Holmes was the wife of the late Marion Holmes. She leaves her everlasting precious memories to linger in the hearts and minds of her children, Nicholas M. Holmes, M.D., Commander, U.S. Navy and Monica S. Holmes; her sister, Jacqueline R. Williams, her niece, Rhonda Cross (Kevin) and nephew, Harold Williams II.
Sharing other fond memories are great niece, Sydney Cross and great-nephew, Louis Cross IV; globally, Julia embodied the true meaning of friendship; she embraced a whole host of cousins and multitudinous friends whom lovingly comprised her extended family; indelibly, she remains in our thoughts.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Lake Charles Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, (800) 227-2345.
