Lula B Harris, pastor of Hope House of Worship-Pentecostal Church, Evangelist and former superintendent of Christian Education at Grace Temple-Pentecostal Church in St. Louis, died Sunday, April 2, 2006 at home, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Lula B. Harris was born on March 13, 1941 in Crueger, Mississippi, to Alphonso and Isabella Cockroft. She graduated from Hunter High in Drew Mississippi and was married in 1960 to Charles T. Harris, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Harris moved to St. Louis in 1962, with her husband and first-born. She joined Grace Temple Church in 1969 and quickly became active in the church, serving as an Evangelist, Assistant Christian Education Superintendent and Christian Education Superintendent.
Mrs. Harris was the founder and Pastor of Hope House of Worship and served in this capacity from 2004 until her passing.
Pastor Lula B. Harris was a devoted Christian, beloved mother and visionary leader.
She is survived by 9 adult children; two sons; Carl E. Harris Sr. and Christopher Harris, seven daughters; Cassandra G. Harris, Charlotte Dean, Cheryl Watson, Collette Blaylock, Caryn Harris, Margo Harris, and Camilla Williams; and 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 23 grandchildren, 1 great grand daughter and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her home-going celebration will be held at The House of Deliverance, Bishop Jesse Battle, Pastor, 9350 Natural Bridge Rd. Services on Saturday April 8, with visitation 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and home-going service 10 a.m.
