Madeline Maxwell, dedicated Provident Counseling employee with Life Crisis Services, passed away unexpectedly last week.
“She was a cornerstone of Life Crisis,” said Sue Self, program director at Life Crisis. Madeline trained volunteers on how to respond to hotline crisis calls and on how to refer people to help. She may have trained well over 900 volunteers as crisis workers.
“She was a great trainer; volunteers really loved her,” Self said.
As a clinician, Madeline also worked with problem gamblers and the Survivors of Suicide group. She was not only on the front line; she was also an active staff person behind the scenes and involved in her private life with her church.
Self said, “She loved training and was like a proud parent at each graduation ceremony. She held a special place in her heart for survivors of suicide. We will miss her, terribly.”
