Dec. 3, 1957 – Sept. 7, 2005
This world was blessed on December 3, 1957 when Minnette Virginia “Doll” McMillan was born. She was the daughter of Theodore and Minnette “Lena” McMillan. She was sister to Theodore Jr., William, Rita and Richard McMillan. She was aunt to Michael, Theodore “Benton” Jr., Cathy, Pam, Allison and Bill Russell McMillan. She was also mother to Stanley Jr. and Shawn Smith and mother-in-law to Jamie Smith and loving grandmother to Christian and Caleb Smith. She was loved by all her relatives and a friend to many.
Minnette attended Saint Rose of Lima Elementary School; she graduated from University City High School, and received a bachelor’s of arts in communication at Lindenwood University. With such accomplishments, Minnette later taught at Williams Middle School, where she was embraced and welcomed by all her students.
Her life gave testimony to the world that love was stronger than any hardship or obstacle she faced. Her compassion and devotion to provide a better life for her children inspired those around her. Her beautiful smile and gracefulness made many feel at ease. Her character and poise was that of a queen. The measurement of her faith could move mountains. Her personality would draw attention to any crowd. Her heart could not be encapsulated in this world alone, but could be seen and felt from the heavens above. Her willingness to give to those in need seemed to always come before her own. Her elegance could only be compared to that of royalty.
