Dr. Samuel A. Fluker made his transition on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006 in Chicago. He spent his childhood in St. Louis. After the death of his mother, he resided with his grandparents, George and Bessie Taylor, and his Aunt Elizabeth Morgan. He was a graduate of Cole Elementary and Banneka High School.

The Rev. Fluker began his religious training in St. Louis under the guidance of the late Bishop Daniel Bostick at the Bostick Temple Church of God In Christ, formerly located at 23rd & Delmar.

At the age of 18 he relocated to Chicago and attended the Moody Bible Institute and the American Bible College and Divinity School. He received a doctorate of Divinity in 1975.

Fond memories will always be cherished by his sister, Ruthie Farmer, Jean Stinson, family members, and his neighbors, the Hunt Family.
