Tyrone Davis was born May 4, 1938 Greenville, Mississippi and died February 9, 2005 in Hinsdale, Illinois at the age of 66.
He suffered a stroke last September and was taken to the Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. He never regained consciousness.
This former Freddie King valet was discovered working in Chicago nightclubs by pianist, Harold Burrage. His hits include “Turn Back The Hands of Time” and “Can I Change My Mind.”
For soul fans, his career high point was reached with the album In The Mood and its title track in 1979. Tyrone Davis is survived by his wife, Ann, and numerous children and grandchildren.
