While other cities have corruption hotlines, it’s the Eye’s guess that the newly established hotline in East St. Louis will probably have multiple phones ringing off the hook. To contact the hotline for the Metro-East Public Corruption Task Force, call (618) 397-4401. It is for anyone who has information for the FBI regarding the investigation into ESL political corruption. The first call will probably come in from East St. Louis Mayor Carl Officer, and he’ll probably talk for several hours. When he said the city was corrupt when he sought re-election two years ago, he was obviously on to something.
